External Candidates

We advertise externally for SMDP in August with successful candidates starting on the programme in February the following year. 

Internal and External Candidates

Warehouse Team Members can apply for SMDP at any time throughout the year, however please note that the role is only visible to Team Members by using a Warehouse computer.

If you are currently working for us and think SMDP is right for you, please talk to your Store Manager first and then apply online using a Warehouse computer. 

What happens to my Application?

Stage 1 - Screening of applications
In this stage, we will review all applications and shortlist candidates based on their written applications.

Stage 2 - Phone or face-to-face interview
If you are shortlisted, we will invite you to participate in a phone or face-to-face interview which will contain both general and behavioural questions.

Stage 3 - Psychometric Assessment
If you are successful in the phone or face-to-face interview stage, we will invite you to complete psychometric testing to help us gain a better understanding of your interpersonal style, customer focus and work attitudes (including leadership potential).

Stage 4 - Assessment Centre
Progression to this stage includes you being asked to participate in an assessment centre which will involve group and individual simulation exercises.

Stage 5 - Reference Checks
Upon satisfactory completion of verbal references, you will be contacted to notify you of the next stage.

Stage 6 - Job Offer
If you are successful to this stage, you will be made a verbal job offer, which, if you accept, will be followed by a written job offer.
