WINTER 2011
After a long summer, it’s finally time to embrace the cooler winter weather. The change of season means planning a whole new wardrobe and there is no better store to get the latest winter looks than The Warehouse.
MAYA
The autumn Maya fashion range is now in store and there is so much to choose from, with all the latest overseas trends covered.
The new season means plenty of mixing and matching to embrace the cooler weather and the latest knits are warm, stylish and practical- not to mention supersoft! There are all sorts of styles to fit your size and budget, whether you want textured cable or plain.
The Warehouse's range of 100% merino wool tops are a great example of the new autumn essentials range. Classic neutrals like charcoal, kahki and cream are so easy to wear and look great when teamed up with autumn's brilliant reds, blues and purples - the perfect combo to brighten up your day.
Vests are in and they are the perfect between-seasons garment, as you can dress them up or down. Wear them with bare arms on a warmer day or over your merino top when the weather gets chilly. Fur trim adds a cool retro edge and looks great when worn with feminine florals and a pair of skinny jeans.
You can complete all these looks with the Warehouses wide range of footwear with the must-have boot being the latest, cool lace up military pair-perfect with tights and a tunic.
GARAGE
This winter’s Garage range is cooler than ever, with fashionable separates that you can mix and match to create your own individual look.
The feminine floral blouse is going to be a big hit this season and looks fantastic worn with some faded skinny jeans and a military jacket - and don’t forget to add an armfull of silver bangles for some extra sparkle. Textured lace is also making a comeback and this is a great way to add a feminine feel to dark jeans and an aviator jacket.
For wardrobe winter staples grab some colourful merino skivvies that literally go with everything. Then for something really different Garage has introduced camel pants that look ever-so-sophisticated next to basic black.
Stay warm in a classic Fairisle sweater (perfect with skinny jeans) or wear a chunky knit over a pair of jean leggings and boots. Just throw on your fur trimmed coat and you are ready for winter!
SEASONAL TIPS FOR WINTER
- A textured scarf is a great way to brighten up a simple black outfit and you can tie your scarf in loads of different ways to create a variety of different looks. Tie a soft floral scarf around your head and add some hoop earrings for a boho feel, or loop your scarf into a bow around your neck to achieve instant glamour.
- Colourful, textured tights keep your look interesting and instantly dress up a simple shift dress and ankle boots. When wearing a short skirt make sure your tights are opaque, as this is more flattering in the winter than sheer stockings.
-A hat is a great way to keep warm, plus it gives your look a funky edge. Wear a fedora hat with your winter coat for instant chic, or choose a colourful beanie and matching scarf.
-Dress up your everyday clothes with a cool handbag from The Saben Says range. They come in a variety of colours that simply go with everything and I love the printed lining and chunky buckles.
-Jean leggings (or jeggings) are a must-have garment for winter. They are so flattering and look great tucked into knee boots and worn with a long line chunky knit. Alternatively you can dress them up with strappy heels and a glam lacy blouse.
-Mix it up this season with velvet & denim, floral and stripes, lace and wool - anything goes in a season that embraces individuality!
NIKKI'S BEAUTY TIPS
10 MAKEUP TIPS & TRICKS
- NEVER over pluck your brows... they should form a natural arch to compliment your eye shape
- A sweep of rosy toned blusher applied on the apple of your cheeks will give your face an instant, natural healthy flush of colour.
- Get in the habit of cleanse/tone/moisturize from a young age. Good skincare habits should last a lifetime!
- Always wear sunscreen all year round as protecting your skin from harsh rays is the best skincare you can use!
- Clean out your makeup bag regularly & throw out colours that don't suit you or have expired.
- Avoid heavy foundations as an overly made up face can be instantly aging.
-Bronzer is great two-in-one product as you can dust it across your cheekbones & eyes for an instant glow.
-If you are wearing strong eye makeup, go for a played down lip & if you love a bright lipstick, go very light on the eye makeup. This will keep your look natural & modern, no one likes an overdone face!
-Always layer your mascara while it is still wet. This will stop it from 'clumping' & the result will be long, separated lashes.
