Update 13 June - 4:30 PM

As you’ll be aware several earthquakes have hit Christchurch today and while our team are very shaken we are thankful that no one in our stores has been hurt.
Our store managers are in the process of contacting all team members to make sure that their families and homes are safe and to ask if they need any support.

Six of our stores are currently closed and many team members from other stores have gone home to check on their family and homes.

Although from reports it appears that there isn’t any structural damage, a team from SSO including our structural engineer will leave for Christchurch tonight to start the process of checking that all our stores are safe to re-enter. We aim to have all effected stores checked by tomorrow and will not reopen until we are certain it is safe for our team to do so.

All the stores listed below will remain closed until they have been checked. Store managers will be in touch with all effected team members about returning to work so please stay at home until then. Safety is the most important thing and we want to assure everyone that all those rostered to work will continue to be paid.

We’ll provide you with further updates once more information is known.
