Our Approach to Fundraising
Over $2million was raised and distributed to New Zealand community service groups and national charities durin 2007-2008. We are passionate about supporting as many people as we can through our store network with our philosophy of giving a hand-up rather than a hand-out.
Individual stores support a variety of organisations within their local communities through point of sale coin collection boxes and other local fundraising activities.
At a national level we support selected charities with wide appeal and reach, with the potential to significantly benefit a large number of people. Recipients in the past have included the Starship Foundation, Cancer Society, Surf Life Saving, National Foundation for the Deaf, Variety – The Children’s Charity and the stepUP Foundation.
We endeavour to:- • Facilitate fund-raising for New Zealanders
• Involve our customers and team members in fundraising
• Ensure The Warehouse maintains long-term relationships with charitable organisations
• Nationally support charitable organisations which are in line with the brand values of The Warehouse and benefit a large number of New Zealanders.
Requests for Donations (including supplying goods) / Sponsorship
The Warehouse, as you can imagine, gets approached on a regular basis to provide support.
We have therefore made the decision to concentrate our energies on supporting and working with as many small local initiatives as possible through our store network, in order to continue to generate goodwill and build brand loyalty in the communities we serve. It is The Warehouse policy therefore to facilitate fundraising rather than to provide sponsorship, funding or product donations.
We have established fundraising facilities in our local stores to support local organisations. These facilities are BBQs and coin collection boxes. Please contact the manager of your local store to apply for the use of these facilities, if this is something that you/your organisation feel is appropriate and would like to pursue.
National Fundraising Calendar
