The Warehouse Supplier: Workplace Standards
Suppliers to The Warehouse are required to comply with or exceed our Supplier Workplace Standards. These are available for download here. Colour printed copies of the standards including a factory poster are also available on request from society.environment@thewarehouse.co.nz. Suppliers manufacturing private label products for The Warehouse are required to provide a register of factories they use for this purpose. The register form is available for download here. The register form should be completed and returned to ethical.sourcing@thewarehouse.co.nz.

Packaging Design
The Warehouse Ltd is a signatory to the New Zealand Packaging Accord 2004 Brand owners and retailers including The Warehouse have been involved in the development of the Accord and have made a public commitment to the principles of the Accord and to the specific provisions within the Brand Owner and Retailer section of the Accord.  This means that we will need to partner with our suppliers to align the specification and design of packaging to the Accord.  Click on these links to view and download copies of the Warehouse Packaging Guide and the Brand Owner and Retailer Section of the New Zealand packaging Accord 2004.

In Store Advertising
The Red Radio Network is New Zealand's largest in-store radio network. Red radio operates in 82 The Warehouse stores. The Warehouse has on average 1.9 million customer visit each week and is New Zealand's largest general merchandise store. Shopping at The Warehouse is generally an enjoyable experience (unlike some grudge shopping experiences)and this shopping mode ensures that customers "keep an ear out" and when something interesting or personally relevant catches their attention they tend to zone in on the information. The radio commercials played in store are perceived to be happening now and this creates immediacy, encouraging customers to act promptly.
