Not sure how to find what’s right for you? Here are a few tips from our in-house Activewear team to give you the best head start!
- Tips -
1. Know your size!
Support and comfort are top priority when it comes to buying workout gear. Make sure you try on the gear and play around with different sizes. It is common to feel more comfortable in larger sizes when buying active wear as the garments are often very fitted compared to your day-to-day outfits and our key pieces are now available up to 6XL. For the women: sports bras are important to get right! Search for your size and try on different styles. Don’t forget to do your research to find out which one is the right fit for your needs and your type of work out.
2. Keep to budget.
A lot of people fall under the “branding spell” but this doesn’t mean that more affordable brands do not have the same, if not better, pieces. Check out our $7 singlets, extended shoulder tees and printed crop tops with cool dry moisture wicking or $12 capris in marble print with cool dry technology, not only are these items high performing and affordable, they are comfortable too!
3. Functionality is a high priority!
Why buy activewear that doesn’t do its job? While looking great may boost your mood, it may compromise your comfort. Make sure your stylish activewear is functional, supportive, and not too tight. Activewear that is too tight can restrict your range of motion while working out – again, make sure you try the gear on before purchasing.

4. Keep it stylish.
You’re working out to look and feel good. Why not look and feel good about your appearance while doing it?
5. Find the right fabrics.
Your work out clothing should have breathable and lightweight fabric. The most effective activewear fabric is cool dry moisture wicking which helps pull the sweat away from your body, letting it evaporate quickly. Keep an eye out for clothing with flat-locked seams to avoid chafing and discomfort.
6. Colour it right!
If you’re planning on exercising outdoors, wearing light coloured clothing will keep you cooler.
7. Put your best foot forward.
8. Invest in footwear that is right for your workout and sporting needs.
If your shoes have stretched out heels, worn patches on the outsoles and places where the shoes have moulded to the shape of your foot – this is a sign you need to replace your footwear.
9. Take a hoodie!
Before and after working out can get a bit chilly, so don’t forget to pack a hoodie to keep you warm pre and post workout.
