Preventing glass breakage:

• Avoid using metal utensils inside your jars. Scratches will cause weak points in the glass.
• Always keep your jars warm until they are ready for use. This will help minimise the risk of breakage when filling with hot food. Sudden temperature changes will cause the glass to break.
• Never place a hot jar onto a cold surface or a cold jar into boiling water. The sudden temperature change will cause the glass to break.
• When boiling avoid the jars knocking into each other with force. A gentle boil is best.
• Do not use if jar is scratched, chipped or cracked.
