Really Good Bike
I bought this bike for my 165cm tall daughter, who wanted something with front suspension and disc brakes. I was pleasantly surprised to take this out of the box and find that it had been assembled out of reasonably good components, and being alloy, not too heavy (18kg all up). She will use it for school, riding to soccer practice and occasional mountain bike trails
The front end is higher than my 14 year old son's Merida, but is able to be lowered 40mm, the seat goes easily low enough for her. I found the cables all had to be disconnected to get them to run in the correct lines on the underside of the top tube, and the brake discs adjusted to get the best response from using the brakes. large wheels (29") with good double wall rims, and cheap town and country tyres and secured by 16mm nuts. Nice paint job, sturdy alloy steering head, seat post and bottom bracket. The derailleur components are pressed steel but well designed and work well. The disc brake callipers are alloy and I personally like cable brakes for being simple to operate and understand.
The front forks have about 80mm travel and are robust, but do not have the good damping of expensive forks-they tend to pop back up. Daughter found the ring grip gear change on the handle bar difficult to operate at first, but is getting used to that. She finds the ones with a thumb and forefinger leavers easier.
