The rubber splits where they flex at the ankle. The insoles come loose and bunch up in the bottom of the boot, better to pull them out when new and discard. Be careful in wet slippery conditions. I only wish I could have afforded a better quality product. Delivery was slow.

Thin rubber. I work with outdoors rock so not sure how long these will be waterproof for.

Treads hard to clean to protect against Kauri Dieback spread
I've had two pairs of these for a few years - they are generally good BUT it's rather hard to clear mud out of the treads. This is really important as any trace of dirt can risk spreading kauri dieback spores from one location to another. Because you have to wash your boots down the sewer not onto open ground, we scrape the main mud into the rubbish bin then wash our boots in the shower. It'd be good if the tread grooves didn't have corners where dirt gets trapped. Overall I've found the grip good even when working on steep banks.

All well and good the steel cap is to protect the feet but the rubber of the boot needs to be tougher as it wasn't strong enough to stop the deer antler making a hole in it.

Steel capped gumboots.
I bought a pair of these steel toe gumboots on a trip to New Zealand at Christmas as a bit of a novelty since you don't see people in NSW wearing gumboots as PPE gear! I have used them a couple of times and found them to be good although perhaps a bit narrow, but not being a gumboots wearer this was a new experience so perhaps that's how they are supposed to be? I am not game to wear them to site yet in case a puzzled foreman chases me off for taking the p*** but I'll try it one day and see how I go - as long as I have my ordinary boots in the ute too.
