Supplies:

Empty plastic bottle (any size),

Zuru Smashers or Itty Bitty Pretty Tea Cup Collectible packaging or an empty Play Doh tub

Scotch Utility Masking Tape

Googly Eyes Fine Sandpaper (300+ grit)

Chalk Marker

Buttons or other decorations

Glue stick or hot glue (on low setting)

Plant and soil

Reeves Acrylic Paint in green, blue or white (depending on craft)

Paint brush

Permanent marker in black (and pink for cute kitty)

Utility knife and scissors

Gravel or aquarium rocks

Instructions

Use masking tape to tape a line around the bottle or your toy packaging to cut later.

Dinosaur:

Use the chalk marker to draw the neck of the dinosaur above the masking tape line. This will easily wipe off later.

Cute kitty:

Use the chalk marker to draw the ears above the masking tape line.

Cutting:

Get your parents to help you on this bit! Pierce a hole in the bottle with a utility knife, then cut out your shape with scissors.

Sanding and painting:

Lightly sand the outside of the bottle to roughen the surface and help the paint stick. After that, brush it off so it’s clean and dry.

Paint the bottle with acrylic paint – give it a few coats and let it dry in between. PS – a hairdryer will speed this up.

It’s time to accessorise!

Dinosaur:

Glue on Googly Eyes and button decorations. Then draw on a mouth, toes and nose using a black marker.

Cute kitty:

Glue on buttons for eyes – paint one bright green and put a black one on top. Repeat to create the other eye.

Draw the mouth with a pink marker, and noses and toes with a black marker.

Planting:

If you like, add aquarium rocks to the bottom of the planter. Then fill it with soil and a plant.

Your room is now a whole lot greener!
