Predict the future with your very own fortune teller!
With this paper folding activity, it’s easy to get together with your friends and become a fortune teller – which cool NZ things will they pick?
How to make it:
1. Take A4 white paper, fold diagonally, and ask an adult to cut it into a square.
2. Fold your paper into triangles and fold out again so you have four diagonal fold lines.
3. Fold each corner into the centre so four triangle shapes are on top, pointing into the middle.
4. Flip the paper over and fold each corner into the centre again.
5. Then fold in half and out again, horizontally and vertically.
6. Now each corner will start to pop out and this is where you’ll put your thumb and index finger
7. Using felt pens, write the names of colours in te reo in each corner close to the edge. Then write the names of our coolest native birds in between. Put the first and second together on one side in between two colour names, then repeat for 3 and 4, 5 and 6, 7 and 8.
8. Write amazing Kiwi places and adventures on the blank side of each corner – when your friends choose a colour and a bird, you can reveal what kind of fun they’ll be having in our awesome country!
