Soft Plastics

We're huge supporters of shifting from a traditional economy to a more sustainable way to lead in retail, where waste is turned into something new instead of being sent to landfill.

One key project we support is the Packaging Forum's Soft Plastic Recycling Scheme. We have soft plastics recycling available at 51 The Warehouse stores, and since 2021we helped Kiwis recycle 41,592,063 pieces of plastic (that’s 262.11 tonnes)

Once collected, the plastic is sent to two innovative parnters, Future Post in Waiuku to be transformed into fence posts or garden beds, and SaveBOARD, where it is turned into Building Products. Take a look at the FuturePost development process in the video.
