What is The Warehouse doing about it?
In 2019, we introduced our $1 range of period products to help Kiwis struggling with the cost each month. For every ten of those products sold, we also donate a pack to our partners The Period Place and Women’s Refuge to pass on to people who need them.
Our customers wanted to know how they could get involved too, which is why in partnership with The Period Place we’ve begun rolling out customer donation boxes across our stores.
The products collected in store are passed on through The Period Place to local community groups who support people experiencing barriers to access. Alongside the donated products is educational material from The Period Place about period cycles and types of period products available.
Customers who have purchased from our $1 range of products will be delighted to know that with their support, we have already donated close to 65,000 period products to people in need. That figure will grow as we continue to donate a further one for every ten packs sold in the range.
